Founded by Me Simon Dubois, a lawyer sworn in by the Quebec Bar in 1999, with a degree in civil law, a bachelor’s degree in English common law and a master’s degree in European and German law, Services juridiques SILEX® inc. offers high-level legal services in Quebec and Canadian civil and commercial law.

How we work
Use of online research tools, annotated laws, in-house models, a computer and determination. Large and small offices alike must do the same, and all depend on the quality of their brains, the quality of their internal coordination and their organizational structure.
Organization
Heavy structures sometimes have more tools and a greater capacity to strike. They may, however, suffer from organizational inefficiencies and a high cost structure. This may not be in the best interest of an individual client or SME.
At SILEX® Legal Services Inc., the organizational structure and tools are simple and effective. Our concern for a job well done, and the direct and simplified relationship with the lawyer, offer great added value to client base which is composed of entrepreneurs, shareholders, syndicates of co-ownership, liquidators of estates, mortgagees, lessors or lessees of commercial leases, franchisees, owners of apartments or multiplexes, emphyteutic lessees, liquidators of estates, heirs, administrators, shareholders or investors.

International partners
SILEX® Legal Services Inc. is an active member in good standing of the JustOne network of international lawyers – www.just1.eu – whose mission it is to connect litigation lawyers from different countries with each other in order to provide their respective clients rapid advice and referral services when transnational issues arise.
For example, this service enables Canadian residents who own assets abroad and who are client’s of SILEX® Legal Services Inc. to benefit from advice or referrals to relevant professionals in an efficient manner. It also enables filing of claims for unpaid invoices to proceed effectively against a foreign debtor.
Reciprocally, the clients of JustOne partners do benefit from easier access to justice in Quebec and Canada.

Linguistic services
Although in this day and age foreign documents can easily be scanned, OCRd and automatically translated, this process will not work for handwritten documents and will never replace actual proficiency in a foreign language, when legal document interpretation is required.
SILEX® Legal Services Inc. provides services in French and English, and can natively work with documentation in German or Italian.

However, if your request is serious and credible, SILEX® Legal Services Inc. will review it briefly and contact you promptly to let you know if your request can be handled. (Response times may vary depending on traffic. Do not attempt to contact us a 2nd time before 5 working days from your first contact).
Legal Services Agreement (retainer)
Provided SILEX® Legal Services Inc. decides, at its sole discretion, to accept your file, you will be asked to sign certain documents (legal services agreement and, in the case of a corporation: resolutions) and provide an initial deposit.
By doing so, you establish your seriousness and allow SILEX® Legal Services Inc. The deposit allows it to start its analysis of the file and cover certain fees and disbursements that may be necessary (e.g. database access fees, fees and expenses of bailiffs, investigators, experts, travel expenses, witness allowances, court file registration fees, etc.).
From time to time new deposits may be requested in order to cover the costs and fees as the case progresses.
In return, SILEX® Legal Services Inc. will provide you with the quality legal services to which you are entitled, with due diligence and seriousness.
Process
The usual sequence begins with a good initial analysis, the consultation with the customer on the choice of remedies and their execution, while exploring, if possible or useful, settlement possibilities in the customer’s best interest. The initial analysis will be updated from time to time as the file proceeds.
